Narrative

These are the narrative film projects I've created that I'm responsible for either as an editor or a director.

The Thirst of Dracula

Based on the 1897 novel by Bram Stoker, I was inspired to direct this film from a life long love and fascination with the character of Dracula. The dastardly count has been the subject of 100s of films spanning 100 years and is one of the most widely adapted novels ever written. There are countless different methods of adapting this story and I'd like to try a couple more adaptations of this in my lifetime. For this particular adaptation, I wrote the screenplay, produced, directed, edited, and color graded this.

-This film was shot on a RED Komodo 6K camera.

-This film was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro with color grading and VFX done in DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Don't Go Gentle

This 10 minute short was directed by me as a part of an anthology series between myself and some of my graduating class mates at UVU. The idea was to mutually decide on guidelines for every director to follow so the whole series would feel cohesive such as genre (adventure/horror), essence (doubt), tone (cynical), and central dramatic question (Is it ethical to hurt someone in order to save someone?). Then, we all wrote scripts and switched them around at random to decide who would direct what. I was very excited to receive this script. When we were doing table reads of the whole series, it was easily one of my favorites. Lastly, this was also edited and color graded by me.

-This film was edited and color graded in Davinci Resolve Studio.

All in the Same Suit

This is a short film that I wrote the screenplay for and edited. The film was directed and adapted by my friend, Cassidy Henderson, who adapted the source material very accurately.  I did the editing, color grading, and VFX for this film. I initially wrote the screenplay for this project for a screen writing class, that Cassidy was also a student in When she approached me about adapting the script, I was thrilled and beyond excited to lend a helping hand wherever I could.

-This film was shot on a RED VRaptor 8K camera.

-This film was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro, color graded in DaVinci Resolve, and with VFX done in Adobe After Effects.

A Faulty Transaction

A Faulty Transaction is a short film that I did cinematography for, wrote the screenplay, directed, and edited, though upon watching it, you'll find the editing is miniscule because this entire short is one shot. I wanted to challenge myself to tell a whole short story in one shot and in black and white. This film was accepted into the 2020 RFH Film Festival., where it was featured on the front page of the festival's website. The website for the festival no longer exists, unfortunately.

-This film was shot on a Canon T7I camera.

-This film was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Life of a Teenage Hacker

Life of a Teenage Hacker is a short film that I wrote, directed, and edited. This is a total side project; It's something that I put together completely by myself in my spare time for fun. It uses a bunch of copyrighted music and footage that doesn't belong to me but it's something that I had a lot of fun making.

-This film was shot on a Canon T7I Camera.

-This film was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
